How To Supercharge Your Sales With AI & LinkedIn šŸ˜€

When someone says ā€˜AI,’ how do you feel? Do you love it, loathe it, or are you just indifferent?

The thing is AI is everywhere, even on LinkedIn! And whether we like it or not, AI is here to stay.

Now, I’ll admit, I’m not the biggest AI fan. I found it frustrating at first—everyone saying AI was the ultimate productivity booster, but the content I got out was bland, boring and not saving me any time! What was I doing wrong?

Luckily, I know Diane Hall who is an AI trainer, and she shared some brilliant tips that completely changed how I view AI. We talked about it in a recent LinkedIn Live, which you can watch here. But below is a quick rundown of the key takeaways that we covered šŸ˜€

šŸ’” Success with AI starts with clear prompts

Using AI really is as simple as typing a prompt into a box. But the real skill lies in knowing what you want to get out of it.

Start with thinking about what you’re trying to achieve, who your audience is, and what the call to action should be. You don’t need any fancy words – just give it the information it needs to give you a detailed, thoughtful response.

Be clear and specific. AI works best when it knows exactly what you need.

For example, instead of ā€œwrite me a blog about plants,ā€ ask for ā€œa 1000-word guide on caring for Ficus plants for new gardeners, including soil types and growth potential.ā€ Get into the details, as the more detailed you are, the better the results.

šŸ’” AI is an assistant, not a replacement

Once I grasped that AI wasn’t there to replace me, but to assist me, I got much more excited! It’s like having an extra set of hands to bounce ideas off. Whether it’s content creation, brainstorming, or even doing research—AI takes some of the heavy lifting so you can focus on what you do best.

If you’re ever stuck for content ideas just ask AI to help you! The key is that you are still in control of the final output.

šŸ’” It’s more than a content tool

Of course, AI is great for creating content, but it’s also fantastic for research, generating lead magnets, prepping for presentations or simplifying complex information. Diane also uses it to hypothesise ideas. I used it to draft a pre-training questionnaire—something that would have taken me hours before researching potential questions to ask.

šŸ’” Choosing an AI tool

There are loads of tools out there. Some are free, while others offer paid versions with more features. I use ChatGPT, but there’s also Claude and Google’s Gemini, which can offer slightly different outputs. For example, ChatGPT’s content can sometimes be quite informal or ā€œamericanised,ā€ whereas Claude tends to be more professional and toned down.

šŸ’” What about false information and plagiarism?

AI isn’t perfect. It can make mistakes and sometimes spits out inaccurate or outdated information. Always review and refine the content. Never take what AI gives you at face value. Think of it as a first draft—you still need to personalise it for your audience.

šŸ’” Where To Start with AI

The best thing to do is just to start small. Pick a task that you’re already doing and see how AI can help you do it faster or better. Whether it’s writing a blog, creating social media posts, or drafting an email sequence – start with something you’re familiar with and then play around with the prompts to see what AI can do.

Confidence comes with practice. Once you’ve got the hang of writing prompts, it becomes second nature. The key is not to overthink it. Think of it as giving instructions to a human assistant. Be clear, specific, and let AI do the hard work for you.
