Catapult Your LinkedIn Results By Changing ONE Thing On Your LinkedIn Profile

“What is ‘the one thing’ I can do to make the biggest difference to my LinkedIn profile and my LinkedIn results overall?”

This was a great question I had recently, and it made me stop and think.

What one thing could you change or update that would have the most impact on your results? 🤔

I often say that even small changes can make a big impact.

So when I am training people on how to write their LinkedIn profile, I always start with the Header section because that is the first thing that people see when they visit your profile.

The Header section includes your . . .

✅ header banner

✅ profile photo and name

✅ headline

✅ the first part of the About section

I would also include the Featured section here as well which I love! It’s a feature that is no where near fully utilised as well as it could. I did a post all about this – a while ago now but its still relevant today which you can find here.

BUT in order for your profile to be seen it first needs to be FOUND and then for someone to be curious enough to click through and view your profile.

Or in other words, you need profile visitors and more importantly you need the right profile visitors!

So, coming back to answer the question the ‘ONE thing’ I would focus on to improve your profile is . . .  (🥁 drum roll)

YOU!

And specifically, how YOU show up on LinkedIn.

By this I mean:

💎 Your Name: ideally just your name should be in this field.

💎 Your Photo: a good photo of just you, smiling looking approachable, that you have set to public so everyone can see it.

💎 Your Headline: this is your elevator pitch, not your job title and company name. It’s your opportunity to tell people what you do, how you help and include your top keywords to maximize LinkedIn SEO.

Why are these LinkedIn Profile fields so important?

Because they go everywhere with you on LinkedIn.

They are the most visible part of your profile outside of your profile.

It’s what people see

👀 on a LinkedIn people search

👀 when you invite them to connect

👀 when you post and comment

So seeing these 3 fields whilst your being active on LinkedIn is building up awareness of you and what you do.

All of which encourages people to click through to your profile over and above anyone else’s.

Time to take Action?

If you’ve not reviewed your profile for a while perhaps now is the time.

Would your headline tell people what you do and how you help?

Would people recognise you from your photo?
